Our group (#threesquared) got of to a great start from Kingston SE with a strong tailwind. So the 43km flew and before we knew it we were munching donuts, tea, coffee and icecreams in Robe. The girls did a media interview and we were soon on our way again.
The wind stayed strong and #threesquared flew along, switching places every 5 minutes with German-like precision. We got into Beachport after 51km and lined up our bikes for lunch.
The 80km ride to Mt. Gambier was interrupted when Jay (in the group before us) damaged his rear derailier. We stopped in Millicent while Trent (our mechanic) rejigged Jay’s rear wheel to operate on one gear. We lost David to the first group and gained Jay for a quick ride into Mt. Gambier at 183km.
