When I take the southern section of a Half River Ride, it takes me over the Eleanor Schonell Bridge, through St. Lucia and back over the Jack Pesch Bridge at Indooroopilly. Once on the south-side of the river, I travel alongside the river and through the new Tennyson Tennis Centre. From there, I travel through Yeronga Park where this picture was taken. Since it was the day after Remembrance Day, floral tributes were still visible on the steps of the memorial pavilion. The avenue of trees was planed after the first world war, one tree for each soldier from the local district who lost his life. It seems that trees are expected to perform so many practical and symbolic functions.
