The Ekibin Creek Bushcare Group celebrated National Tree Day on Sunday 26 July, 2015. We obtained some native trees and shrubs from Land for Wildlife to plant in a specially cleared area alongside Ekibin Creek near the corner of Bapaume and Nursery Roads, Holland Park West. The celebration was for people and families interested in regenerated bushland close to Holland Park State High School. The site, which has been restored over more than 20 years, now hosts a rich variety of native wildlife alongside a riparian rainforest. The National Tree Day plantings added to this diversity. People who attended had a chance to see some of this work and meet the people who created and maintain it.
