This is part of one of my favourite cycle routes, one that I take for short training rides. It takes me through Toohey Forest, a remanent woodland only 9km from Brisbane city. This path is part of a network of walking and cycling tracks associated with Nathan and Mt. Gravatt campuses of Griffith University. This one follows a ridge that marks an important local watershed. To the south flows Mimosa Creek, a tributary of Bulimba Creek that proceeds into the Brisbane River. On the other side of the ridge, the creeks flow north, first into Ekibin Creek and subsequently into Norman Creek before joining the Brisbane River.
