This pair of Tawny Frogmouths (Podargus strigoides) has been living on the verge outside our house for a few weeks. They are pretty hard to see as their camouflage works quit well against this tree. During the day they appear to rest and presuably hunt during the twilight or night.
A few weeks ago, one of these birds disappeared and only one could be found nestling in the same tree. About this time I heard that a a Tawny Frogmouth had been found injured nearby, in the Seven Hills Bushland Reserve. It was taken to a wildlife carer to recover.
