Seven-Hills-Reserve

Three separate images of flowering plants are combined. At the top, a branch of a small tree displays lots of pale purple flowers and long narrow green leaves. The middle image shows a mass of bright orange/yellow flowers covering a low shrub with small leaves. At the bottom a flower stalk from a vine displays deep purple flowers each with two small stamens.

A Wildflower "Season"

A vase holds branchlet of dull green gum leaves, smooth buds and flowers. some of the buds are just opening to reveal white stamens having lost their cap while others remain closed. The long, pointed leaves have a prominent mid-vein that are arranged opposite each other on the stem.

Pink Bloodwood

It was the raucous Rainbow Lorikeets that alerted me. Their feeding frenzy around a flowering tree canopy 30m above had littered the forest floor with fallen buds, flowers and leaves.

Juvenile Butcherbird

I had thought that it might have been a Grey Butcherbird, but the buff-coloured breast patch marks it out as a juvenile of the Pied Butcherbird (Cracticus nigrogularis)…
